Mission
We will:
- Incorporate innovative methods to include historically-excluded perspectives.
- Practice evidence-based librarianship by assessing user needs, evaluating resources, and re-examining our operations.
- Use evolving technology and methods to address emerging issues in scholarly communication, acquisitions, and user needs.
Vision
UNT users have rapid access to the diverse universe of scholarly resources to support their research, teaching, and educational needs.
Values
We believe in…
- People-centeredness. We are people developing collections services for people—the patrons. We collaborate with others, seek feedback and input from all constituents, and are responsive to requests and concerns.
- Constant improvement. We uphold a culture of assessment and tolerate failure in pursuit of innovation. We are open-minded and change traditional workflows to suit evolving needs
- Conscientiousness. We are efficient, organized, and thorough. We think about how we do things and how well we do things. We are excellent stewards of library funding and outstanding record-keepers.
- Comprehensiveness. We provide high-quality collections for all. We apply the principles of fairness to find new ways to include all voices.
