This example is from the reign of King George V.   It grants Robert Egerton Rivers, a Solicitor, the Freedom of the City of London.  It is signed by the Rt. Hon. Sir Thomas Vezey Strong, Mayor, and has the Arms of the City of London on one end and the embossed seal of the Chamberlain, the Rt. Hon. Sir Joseph Cockfield Dimsdale, Bart.,  on the other.

Unlike the Libraries' example from 1845, this Freedom came in a red-cloth covered slip-case rather than a wooden cylindrical case.  It is not known if this is the original case, or a replacement.  Originally, the Freedoms were issued
in cases so that each Freeman could carry a copy with them should they need to prove their rights.
