Highlights of specific items in the collections: Texas Society Sons of the American
Revolution
Group of two medals and two pins commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Texas Society Sons of the American Revolution.
The full-sized medal has on the obverse an eagle superimposed over a Texas state flag, with the inscription "106th Congress / San Antonio, Texas". The reverse shows an outline drawing of the state of Texas, with the inscription "Texas / Society / Sons of the American / Revolution / 100 Years" and the dates "1896 / 1996".
The miniature medal is uniface, reproducing as it's obverse the reverse of the full-sized medal.
The Lapel pin reproduces the pendant of the miniature badge.
The Tie pin is enameled in red, white, and blue, and features an image of the Minuteman superimposed over the outline of Texas. The whole is surrounded by a relief inscription: "Texas Society Sons of the American Revolution".
The medals were received in the TXSSAR Archives in
their original packaging, as shown above.
