Highlights of specific items in the collections: National Society Sons of the American
Revolution
Throughout the first half of the 20th century, delegates and their families attending the Annual Congresses of the Sons of the American Revolution would receive ornate badges to wear as name-badges, and as souvenirs of the Congress.
This particular example, from the 51st Congress, held in Washington D.C. features a view of the United States Capitol Building.
At the base of the suspension bar is a tiny enamelled representation of the badge of the Society. This badge was collected by Mr. Donald L. Stone, member of the Freedom Chapter, Texas Society Sons of the American Revolution. Mr. Stone donated it to the TXSSAR Archives in May 2004.
