Compete in friendly tournaments and test drive the latest titles from your favorite developers once a month at our open gaming event. Each night will be themed to highlight a different part of our collection or community. Snacks will be provided.

This event is on the first Wednesday night of each month during the semester, 4pm-9pm.

Pixels & Pieces: Tabletop Game Design

Pixels & Pieces is our tabletop game design workshop facilitated and lead by the Media Library. Join us to take your game ideas from concept through testing and production, and let us help you get your prototype into the hands of publishing companies! Meetings will include discussions and talks with published designers, guided lessons and activities, and time to work on your design or have others playtest your game.

This group meets select Wednesday nights during the semester, 6pm-9pm.

Where: UNT Media Library (Chilton Hall 111c)

Who can participate: Attendance is open to the community, but resources and contests are limited to groups including at least one enrolled UNT student, staff, or faculty member.

Do I have to come to every meeting?: No. We realize you are busy with school. Attend as much as you can, and come and go as you need. For entry into the game judging for further refinement, we do require 50% attendance.

Benefits: Your design team will work collaboratively and create a prototype of your own table top game. Your prototype can be entered into a game judging for a chance to win:

  • 3D printed pieces from the Factory in Willis Library
  • Die cut pieces, tiles, and counters from Print & Play (
  • Large-format printed game board from the Factory in Willis Library
