Commission Chairs Named

The Commission on Structural Alternatives for the Federal Courts of Appeal held an organizational executive session today. The Commission elected retired Supreme Court Justice Byron R. White as Chair and N. Lee Cooper, immediate past president of the American Bar Association, as Vice Chair. As authorized by congressional statute, the Commission appointed Daniel J. Meador, the James Monroe Professor of Law Emeritus at the University of Virginia, as Executive Director of the Commission. The Commission will hold public hearings on the issues, with dates to be announced.
