An explanation, how to get the funding, and state examples are provided for each type. The five best State and local sources, gas and vehicle taxes, bond issues, incidental projects, developer dedications, and recreation funds, are similarly described. Other possible sources, such as the National Recreation Trails Fund, Scenic Byways, Federal Lands Highway Funds, the Bridge Program, planning activities, and the Federal Transit Program are briefly included.
