Superpave 2000 Conference to Highlight Implementation Efforts Across
the Country
What's the latest on the Superpave system? Find out at the Superpave
2000 National Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, on August 21-22.
The event is designed for pavement and materials engineers and others
interested in the Superpave system and its use across the country.
"The
Superpave conference is intended to be a national open house on Superpave
implementation efforts," says organizer Lee Gallivan of the Federal
Highway Administration's (FHWA) Indiana division office. "We're bringing
in speakers from Florida to Arizona to include different perspectives on
the new asphalt pavement design system."
Sessions will cover the latest Superpave research and the status of
several States' implementation efforts. Asphalt and aggregate suppliers
and highway contractors will discuss their views of the Superpave system
and related issues. Participants will also get a chance to visit Superpave
construction sites and research facilities in the Indianapolis area. In
addition, the conference will tentatively include a panel discussion by
FHWA's Superpave Technology Delivery Team.
The event is sponsored by the Indiana Department of Transportation (DOT),
the Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana, the Indiana Mineral Aggregates
Association, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation
Officials, the North Central Superpave Regional Center, and FHWA.
