Mike Halladay
has been named SHRP Implementation Coordinator in FHWA's Office of Technology
Applications. He replaces Tommy Beatty, who was recently appointed administrator
of the Delaware Division of FHWA.
During
his 21 years with FHWA, Halladay has held positions in Region 1, Headquarters,
and the District of Columbia Division. Most recently, he served as a member
of the Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office in FHWA
Headquarters, where he was responsible for programs and projects dealing
with traffic management and traveler information systems. His broad-based
experience in research and development, pavement management practices,
preconstruction engineering, and advanced technologies will serve him in
good stead in his new position. "I hope to bring a little from each
of my previous positions to this exciting new area of SHRP implementation,"
says Halladay.
His responsibilities will include working with the AASHTO Task Force on SHRP Implementation, the Transportation Research Board-SHRP Committee, other FWHA headquarters and field offices, State departments of transportation, and local agencies to facilitate implementation of SHRP products.
Halladay can be reached at 202-366-6503 (fax: 202-366-7909).
Beatty says that, in his new position, he is "looking forward to working with Delaware DOT on the implementation of SHRP products and other technologies for building better and safer roads."
