Event: Women in the Dallas LGBTQ Community: Exhibit Reception and Pride Flag Unveiling
About this Event
Please join UNT Special Collections for a reception to celebrate an exhibit curated from archival materials in the UNT LGBTQ Archive. This exhibit features the leadership, activism and challenges faced by lesbian, bisexual and trans-women in Dallas. Women are an essential part of the Dallas LGBTQ community, but it has taken time and effort for women to be seen and heard by their male peers.
The reception will include speakers as well as the official Pride Flag Unveiling in City Hall. This event is free and open to the public.
The exhibit, Women in the Dallas LGBTQ Community, is co-sponsored by the LGBT Employees Association of Dallas and The Dallas Way. This is the third year that UNT Special Collections has collaborated with these organizations to curate a Pride Month exhibit in Dallas City Hall.
Please visit the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Archive to learn more about this collection.
