Event: Paws and Relax during Finals Week
About this Event
Finals week is upon us, which means it’s time to pause and relax by petting and playing with some furry pups at our bi-annual Paws and Relax event!
Does it feel like the woof is caving in on you? Does it seem like you’ve been staring at your textbooks fur-ever? We get it. The puggle is real, but you don’t have to terrier self up about finals stress anymore.
Instead, wander over to the Willis Library Forum on Tuesday, December 11 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and interact with well-trained, adorable therapy dogs during our Paws and Relax event!
The dogs, trained at Paws Across Texas will be here to offer their big toothy smiles and wagging tails to students who need a break.
Paws Across Texas is a Fort Worth-based nonprofit organization that provides therapy programs by working with volunteers and their privately owned companion animals. All the participating dogs have been specially trained to be calm while accepting belly rubs and being petted by students, and information regarding their shots has been shared with the Library.
Students must sign a waiver stating they have no known allergies before petting the dogs. This is the organization’s eighth semester to collaborate with UNT Libraries on this event, with hundreds of students giving glowing reviews.
Paws and Relax is sponsored by the UNT Libraries Student Advisory Board.
