Event: LIMIT Scanning Day
About this Event
The Local / Independent Music Initiative of Texas (LIMIT), a local music
initiative of the UNT Music Library, is partnering with the Denton
Public Library to host
a scanning day to preserve and provide access to Denton’s extensive but disappearing musical heritage. Music fans and collectors can bring in photos, handbills, programs, and other flat music memorabilia 8.5” x 11” in size or smaller to be digitized.
This event is free and open to the public, and we are encouraging community members to bring any two-dimensional music-related objects for digital scanning.
Digital files will be delivered to the patrons on flash drives, and patrons are encouraged to donate the digital and/or physical items to LIMIT for archival purposes.
Qualifying Print Items
- Concert Posters
- Ticket Stubs
- Newspaper Clippings
- Set Lists
- Any physical photo or print piece that documents history of the Denton or Texas music scene.
Participants may bring up to 25 items for free digitization onto a complimentary USB drive, subject to availability. If the materials fit the collecting policy of LIMIT, the owner of the materials will have the opportunity to donate not only the digital files, but the original materials as well, subject to applicable law and LIMIT policies.
